Overriding a single option
Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment: 0.3.28, Fedora 34, i3
Description of Problem:
I have a headset that has no volume under volume of 25 % and above that is too loud. I understand that since d226a28b (as currently I cannot get the option to force at all) that requires setting api.alsa.soft-mixer = true
which means sudo cp /usr/share/pipewire/media-session.d/alsa-monitor.conf /etc/pipewire/media-session.d/alsa-monitor.conf
.
This file includes 46 uncommented lines which have some other options, several of which I don't understand. I fear that by copying those options, the defaults are going to change or cause future breakage.
Is it possible to have a minimal config file changing only this single option?
How Reproducible: unsure, hypothetical.
Steps to Reproduce:
- N/A
Actual Results:
Copying entire file to override a single option.
Expected Results:
Creating a small file with just the desired option change with less risk in the future.
Additional Info Eg. pw-dump -N > file
(As Attachment Please):
Today I have been trying to get PipeWire to work without deafening me for hours as the configuration directory moved unexpectedly without much documentation and I didn't find documentation on how to reload PipeWire configs either so I just rebooted (a lot) and I hope the next PipeWire release will bring usable/audio back to my system.
