CML-R + TGP PCH audio has no eld for DP and HDMI connection

With upstream patch https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/412664/?series=85502&rev=2

The platform output of external display works successfully. But we found that the audio output is not working properly.

I check file under /proc/asound/card0, there is no eld file. Here is the alsa-info alsa-info.txt

The kernel log of drm-tip + drm.debug=0x1ff. no-eld.log

I encounter the problem on both upstream drm-tip kernel and Canonical oem kernel https://code.launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux-oem/+git/focal/+ref/oem-5.10-next

Both kernel contained the patch already.

The HDMI/DP audio for the DP connector seems work.

Thanks for the confirmation @kaichuan.hsieh. Could you let me know that the CPU in your device is CometLake_R or CometLake_S & how are you identifying it?

Its audio device id is different from CML-S, and Dell told me it is CML-R. Also, The hardware is a Desktop. Actually, I don't know how to identify it, but you can get the audio device id from alsa-info.txt I attached.

Yes, an aware of the alsa-info.txt but am confused between the "Dell devices" that have CML-S versus CML-R. I will find more on it. Can I close this ticket?

Verified @kaichuan.hsieh's patch, passed on GF AIO UMA + CML-S Refresh i5 10505. I have audio output via HDMI.

As per the reporter's comments issue got resolved with the provided patch. Hence closing this #2925 (closed) issue, please open a new ticket if issue observed on the latest drm-tip.
