Configure crtc 0 failed when trying to set Ultrawide 3440×1440 21:9

Problem Statement:

Maximum select-able resolution is 1920x1080 (16:9), cannot choose monitor's native resolution 3440×1440 (21:9). Attempting to set xrandr mode manually fails with error: xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed

Xorg log shows DDC recognition at least once:

Steps to reproduce the issue.

Attempt to select resolution using Settings GUI = native resolution not available

or

Attempt to set manually using xrandr = Configure crtc 0 failed
