GPU hang when playing video in Wayland after kernel update
On Lenovo L440, when I install Fedora 32, it seems to work fine with Wayland. The kernel is 5.6.6-300. When I update to 5.9.14-100 or 5.10.0-0.rc6.20201204git34816d20f173, graphic interface freezes when I play any video. On XOrg even starting Firefox seems to behave in a similar fashion.
- Steps to reproduce the issue.
Install Fedora 32. Play h264 video. => Works fine
Update kernel. Play the same h264 video. => Graphics freezes
- How often does the steps listed above trigger the issue? For example: always, 1 out 3 times.
Always
- Which platforms and features are affected (if you can).
Only tested on x86_64
- The following information about your system:
- -- system architecture: ("uname -m")
x86_64
- -- kernel version: ("uname -r"). Again, please consider using latest drm-tip from http://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-tip
5.10.0-0.rc6.20201204git34816d20f173.92.fc34.x86_64
Unfortunately it is above my knowledge to build the kernel, but I can always test kernel from Fedora rawhide.
- -- Linux distribution
Fedora 32. Fedora 33 hangs on install, seems to be the same issue.
