Support Extension Units in our example script

Daniel Scally requested to merge djrscally_iob/uvc-gadget:dan/xu_script_support into master

Now that the kernel supports the specification of extension units through configfs, check that that support is present (in case we're running an older kernel) and if so, set up an example XU. Do a bit of supplemental clean up opportunistically.
