Description:
In Ubuntu we experienced sporadic 'EnterVT failed for screen' errors when resuming from hibernate or suspend and docked to WD19DC (2x 4K U4320Q, 42.5" @ 96dpi font / No scaling or 2xFullHD@Office2)
And X11 gets restarted, all our unsaved work is lost, some unsaved work in tmux has survived. It would be nice, if this issue can be solved, as this is our last piece for finalizing the linux migration. Many Thanks.

Some background information:
-
I am trying to migrate to Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS). Almost everything works (LUKS, sleep, hibernate, multimonitor setup, 3D, no screen corruption) - except this remaining issue which is a blocker for us
-
With Windows we work at home and also sometimes in offices. Each working place has docking station with huge and many monitors attached to (WD19DC), mostly Dell monitors. We do daily docking/undocking cycles. The working style works very reliable with Windows (no Crashes) Until now, EnterVT failed doesn't occur when resuming undocked only.
-
I tried disabling kde screen locker, keeping laptop display always open, trying to first resume undocked, then doing hotplugging, In the end after some docking cycles X11 crashes on resume.
-
Also tried switching to console, then suspend. Then after resume switch from console to desktop
-
We have to use a Displayport to HDMI Adapter for Linux because 30bit DeepColor is not working with the dockingstations. WIndows switched to 24bit. See[1]
