After a few copy/paste, buffers are out of sync between Mac and X

Description

While using Xquartz to run X clients, we have noticed that after a few successful copy/paste operations (From Mac to X and vice versa), buffers become out of sync between Mac and the X client. The X selection buffer will not get updated with the copied data and pastes outdated information. Issue seems to be with the preference settings which either do not get saved or get corrupted randomly. To make it work again we have to close and restart Xquartz or run a script to rewrite the xquartz preferences.
