the Samogitian layout adds letters that Samogitian does not have, but lacks otilde
Three years ago, commit e7af5f76 added a special layout for Samogitian (a language spoken in Lithuania). But looking closely at this layout, and at the Samogitian alphabet as described on Wikipedia, I see that the layout adds four Latvian letters (ģ ķ ļ ŗ
) and five other accented letters (ȧ ď ë ť ů
) whose purpose is unclear as Samogitian does not appear to use them. But what is conspicuously missing is the otilde (õ
), that the Wikipedia article says that modern Samogitian uses.
@zordsdavini, could you shed some light on the reasoning behind this layout? As it seems to me that it does not add any character that is needed to write Samogitian, and any needed letters that it does have are present already on the basic Lithuanian layout.
