platform_profile driver does not work as well, cannot revert back to intel_pstate

Recently my laptop has been using the platform_profile driver. It used to always use the intel_pstate driver.

This would be because your kernel changed, and started offering platform_profile support for your hardware.

Since this change, the power draw on my laptop has gone up substantially without any change in usage (averaging 7-10W on power-saver, as opposed to previously 4-6W with pstate driver).

That's because, currently, power-profiles-daemon can only drive one of the platform_profile or intel-pstate drivers.

I wasn't asking if the daemon can use both at the same time or not: how do I switch back to the intel-pstate driver manually?

By reverting your kernel to the older version, or disabling the platform_profile feature in your kernel. You can also remove ppd_driver_platform_profile_get_type in src/power-profiles-daemon.c.

There aren't any configuration for this because this problem will be fixed when #107 (closed) is.
