Define how the different color volumes should be handled
Somewhere in the protocol it must be defined how a compositor should handle the different color volumes.
Suggestion from @pq:
Any colorimetry inside both the target color volume and the container color volume must be considered meaningful for the image content. Any colorimetry outside of either volume must be gracefully tolerated, but may be moved inside both volumes.
Also:
Compositors should use the target color volume to improve gamut mapping when applicable for the chosen rendering intent.
