Allow users to have a proper dynamic range compression without a plugin
Hello,
In my humble opinion, it would be a very useful feature to have dynamic range compression system-wide with PulseAudio, so users would have the choice of having it just by enabling a flag in CLI or by ticking a box on their desktop environment. This would remove the hassle of having to install a plugin and configure it to have another (virtual) sound output, with some shaky DRC parameters.
It would definitely greatly help to improve Linux for the desktop, and it is one of the issue we cannot really get rid of when you are using a Linux distribution on a daily basis.
I know that I am not alone to ask for this since years.
