Pixelated pavucontrol icon, Debian+GNOME Shell

The default icon used by the pavucontrol.desktop file/launcher appears pixelated on a default Debian+GNOME Shell installation. The pavucontrol.desktop uses the multimedia-volume-control icon, but by default Adwaita doesn't include a high-resolution version of this icon, and a developer on the Adwaita team said that

App icons are shipped with apps. adwaita-icon-theme will not be shipping app icons.

I think PulseAudio should ship with its own app icons, and/or use its own app icons rather than referencing the multimedia-volume-control icon in pavucontrol.desktop, which according to the Adwaita team is not intended to be used by an application such as pavucontrol.
