Created attachment 119224 lightdm service
If I have ShowDelay set low enough, so I get a boot splash, I never make it into LightDM. Both lightdm-plymouth.service and lightdm fail to finish booting to desktop. I'm using rEFInd 0.9.2 as my boot loader, on an Arch system and EFI booting.
I don't know if the hardware matters. Hardware and drivers: Motherboard: Rampage V Extreme CPU: 5930k 4.6 ghz GPU: Asus 660 ti SSD: 850 Pro 256 GB and 850 Pro 1 TB Kernel: Linux 4.3.3-1 Graphics Driver: nvidia 355.11-4
Here's the boot entry for Arch: menuentry "Arch"{ icon \EFI\refind\icons\os_arch.png volume BOOT loader vmlinuz-linux initrd initramfs-linux.img options "rw root=UUID=88264de8-5ef0-405c-bac1-8ecba0a47aca intitrd=intel-ucode.img quiet ipv6.disable=1 rootflags=noatime,data=ordered elevator=noop vga=0x034d" }
I believe I have framebuffer setup correctly for an EFI boot.
