Pavucontrol offers the AAC codec for my bluetooth headphones but it cannot be relied on.

If you are filing this issue with a regular release please try master as it might already be fixed. Also test with PulseAudio because if it doesn't work there it's not going to here either.

Bluetooth Radio, Bluetooth Headset, Desktop Environment, Distribution, Version (Bluez, Kernel, and PipeWire):

Description of Problem:

When my bluetooth headphones (M7) are paired with my laptop, Pavucontrol offers several ways to use the audio, such as HFS, SBC, and AAC. However, only SBC works reliably. When connected with AAC, the headphones are quiet or just one headphone is playing, when switched to SBC, they play normally. When switched to AAC, they become quiet. The only case when one of the is playing is when you choose a different device, built-in speakers for example, let them play for some time and reswitch to USB headphones. When switched to headphones, after you have chosen SBC manually, switching to AAC never ever produces any sound.

How Reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Connect USB headphones and see in which mode they are performing.
  2. Try different modes.

Actual Results:

AAC cannot be used properly.

Expected Results:

If possible, AAC should work.
