Anyone packaging? Bit of an availability issue.
So I'd like to try out pipewire (replacing pulse) and do some recording on my ubuntu 20.0.4 based system. The version they have is relatively ancient and doesn't even support the new BT codecs. Some 2.7 or something.
Surely someone has a PPA... nope. Well debian's version is more up to date (3.19). A bit of dependency hell there. The BT codecs don't install. I paused trying the rest to see if anyone here had another solution. Maybe forget BT for now....
So I could build it I suppose. But then I have to install dev tools into my DAW and build every time there is an update. Does it build all of the other stuff like the pulse emulation lib? No idea. If it hoses my audio I'll have to manually uninstall unless I'm packaging it too.
In contrast the pulse BT modules just installed and worked. There might be more availability on arch and redhat since I can do the AUR and saw rpms but on debian based distros it's not looking good. Any way to ease my pain here?
