src/service.c:btd_service_connect() a2dp-sink profile connect failed for 12:34:56:78:90:AB: Protocol not available

Bluetooth Radio, Bluetooth Headset, Desktop Environment, Distribution, Version (Bluez, Kernel, and PipeWire):

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 8087:0a2b Intel Corp. Bluetooth wireless interface
Jabra EXTREME2
GNOME 3.36
Fedora 32
bluez-5.55-1.fc32.x86_64
kernel-5.10.8-100.fc32.x86_64
pipewire-0.3.20-1.fc32.x86_64

Description of Problem: Initially HFP headset connected, but as soon as I tried to use it it disconnected and won't reconnect now. Every attempt to connect produces:

src/service.c:btd_service_connect() a2dp-sink profile connect failed for 12:34:56:78:90:AB: Protocol not available

in the journal.

How Reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install pipewire 0.3.20
  2. Reboot
  3. Turn on headset
  4. Open PA Volume control
  5. Choose HFP profile for headset
  6. Try to use headset

Actual Results: Headset is disconnected and won't reconnect, producing the error:

src/service.c:btd_service_connect() a2dp-sink profile connect failed for 12:34:56:78:90:AB: Protocol not available

on every attempt.

Expected Results: None of the above, headset should work.
