Pop/click when switching tracks in Rhythmbox

There sometimes (about 50% to 75% of cases) is a relatively loud (as in not dangerously so but clearly perceivable) clicking sound when manually switching tracks in Rhythmbox. This is usually not present when using PulseAudio (a similar click is sometimes audible but far less frequently, as in at most 5% of the cases) .

I'm on PipeWire revision f6bc9113 using the provided make run and make shell commands. System is running Fedora 32 Workstation. I've temporarily stopped/disabled PulseAudio on the system. The target device is a "[AMD] Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller" (using the analogue headphone output).

Please let me know in case you need more information.
