RAOP output flooding log files
- PipeWire version (
pipewire --version
): 0.3.47 - Distribution and distribution version (
PRETTY_NAME
from/etc/os-release
): Debian GNU/Linux bookworm/sid - Desktop Environment: GNOME 41.4
- Kernel version (
uname -r
): 5.16.0-1-amd64
Description of Problem:
I have observed, on two different computers (both running the configuration mentioned above), that with output to an RAOP device (AirPlay compatible wireless speaker), my root partitions fills up quickly to the extent that eventually it even ran out of space once. I traced this now to log files being flooded with messages like
pipewire-pulse[3120]: mod.raop-sink: discarding short (-1 < 8) control packet
There are hundreds or more like that per second, and they appear in /var/log/user.log, /var/log/syslog, and /var/log/messages at the same time.
I think some logging of such messages might be intended, but probably not to the extent I observe. Basically this means that currently I cannot use pipewire to play on RAOP devices.
How Reproducible:
Play music (using Exaile in my case), set output to any RAOP device.
