After latest update surround sound is no longer working
- PipeWire version (
0.3.44-1
): - Distribution and distribution version (
Fedora Linux 35.20220128.0 (Silverblue)
from35.20220128.0 (Silverblue)
): - Desktop Environment: Gnome
- Kernel version (
5.15.16-200.fc35.x86_64
):
Description of Problem:
Surround Sound 5.1 only plays through center channel in browser and vlc. However, when using settings under sound category, then selecting the 'test' button, sound correctly comes from each speaker. (all six in 5.1 selection)
How Reproducible:
Open VLC and play 5.1 capable movie.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open settings, then Sound no the left, select 5.1 configuration, then click on test button. Click each speaker. The system will play front left and so forth correctly.
- Open VLC or browser and open any audio, whether music or video.
Actual Results:
The sound will only come from center channel and subwoofer.
Expected Results:
Sound should either be in stereo, or surround sound using all speakers if 5.1 encoding is there. When I rollback to previous version all is playing correctly.
