App's sound stops working when audio profile is changed in v0.3.39
- PipeWire version: 0.3.39
- Distribution and distribution version: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS"
- Desktop Environment: Gnome 3.36.8
- Kernel version (
uname -r
): 5.11.0-40-generic
Description of Problem:
When I switch any audio profile, all applications that play media freeze and require closing/reopening to work properly again. Appears only in 0.3.39. Version 0.3.38 doesn't have the issue. Tested on 3 different laptops with Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.
Found similar issue #930 (closed), but nothing there helped.
How Reproducible:
Run an app that plays audio (tested in Spotify, Chrome - youtube, google meet), switch any audio profile (can be Bluetooth profiles or different audio output without Bluetooth). Only when you restart an app it works properly after, with the profile being switched correctly.
Actual Results:
App responds but stops playing audio or video (in case of youtube).
Expected Results:
App keeps playing audio or video with a newly selected profile.
