Problems trying to loopback Line-In Realtek
I apologize for the possible noise this issue may cause but after lots of google foo im not sure where to turn.
Ive been trying to help a friend figure out how to loopback the Line-In on their Realtek ALC1120 to output over their headphones so they can listen to line in and the desktop at the same time. (theyre not super linux savvy)
The issue seems to be that the realtek line-in and mic-in are both on the same node but different ports.
alsa_input.pci-0000_09_00.4.analog-stereo
Active Port: analog-input-linein
Active Port: analog-input-rear-mic
Line-In doesnt show up as a separate node here and just as a separate port which you can switch between in Gnome settings.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to loopback the line-in, using that node its just the mic-in getting looped back. Is there a way to set the port used for a loopback or some other thing I may be missing? Might this require a hardware loopback through alsa?
I can have them run any commands needed to get outputs/inputs,etc I Apologize for the game of telephone.
