Blue Yeti microphone stops working after some time
If you are filing this issue with a regular release please try master as it might already be fixed.
Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment:
0.3.38 Gentoo Plasma
Description of Problem:
On boot usually my Blue Yeti ('Blue Microphones Analog Stereo') microphone shows up in pavucontrol and Plasma, and it is on, but there's no input. If I try to record with Audacity, Audacity's recording cursor won't move.
I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to recognise input (to have the meter actually move on input).
Compare these screenshots (working vs not working):
How Reproducible:
Can be reproduced relatively easily.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Reboot machine with microphone plugged in
OR
- Plug in microphone after booting. Verify it can record
- Wait a day
OR
- Plug in device. Verify it can record
- Use a tool like uhubctl to power cycle the USB port (
uhubctl -a cycle -p 4 -l 1-12
, where1-12
is the hub and4
is the port number).
Actual Results: After a boot or after a day, recording will not work.
In the last scenario, the device will appear but the meter will never register sound.
Expected Results:
Should keep working in all cases.
Additional Info Eg. pw-dump -N > file
(As Attachment Please):
I disabled suspend by setting session.suspend-timeout-seconds = 0
. This has not made a difference.
