Weird rolling 'vsync' effect
Hi,
I'm in the process of getting the 'xrgears' monado demo working and it's getting there but there is a strange 'rolling vsync' effect going on - a horizntal black bar about 16 pixels-ish high (with some random gaps in it), scrolls up the HMD at about 1Hz - it actually looks 'rendered', or maybe a 'dirty' rect in an offscreen buffer, and not just an analog artifact.
Any idea what might be up here?
I am using Manjaro and an original classic HTC Vive with the 2 lighthouses, and the 'libsurvive' driver as I couldn't get the 'vive' working working too well. My graphics card is an AMD5700XT and it worked fine in steamvr about a year ago, but steamvr just keeps getting progressively worse on Linux so time to move on!
I initially tried the built-in 'vive' driver but couldn't get it going. Both libsurvive and monado are built from git source.
Also, just to be clear - is monado primarily responsible for HMD output, while libsurvive handles tracking input? I am also experience quite 'juddery' head movement, bit I'm guessing this is more likely to be a libsurvive issue?
Bye! Mark
