Small typo fix and hopefully exit more gracefully

I'm not totally sure I did the "exit more gracefully" part correctly -- before this patch, on my machine, xrgears would totally lock up if the runtime (in my case Monado) unexpectedly exits. Now, on my machine, it doesn't, but it still prints a bunch of errors as it leaves.
