Performance issues in some games since glthread was enabled by default

GL apps on KMS/DRM have a very strange behaviour since 22.3.0. Games run in a choppy maner, like a 30fps game instead of 60, with visual artifacts. The input latency is worse than 22.2. Sometimes there can be a frame displayed "in advance", not in the continuous expected flow.
Several people reported such bad behaviour using a Ryzen 2200G or 2400G on a fully updated Arch Linux.
I have bisected it to narrow down to commit d6fabe49. If that commit is reverted, it's all back to normal.
