[amdgpu][aarch64] Text and Window Artifacting; Possible System Crash in 3D Applications
OS: Linux Ubuntu 21.04 aarch64
System: HoneyComb LX2K ARM64
GPU: AMD Radeon WX 4100
Kernel: 5.11.0.25-generic
Mesa Version: 21.3.0-devel (occurs in previous builds)
X Version: 1.20.11
Desktop: Gnome3/Wayland
GRUB Boot Args: "amdgpu.pcie_gen_cap=0x4" "amdgpu.noretry=0"
systemd: systemctl mask "sleep" "suspend" "hibernate" "hybrid-sleep"
glxinfo: https://pastebin.com/CTXYChaJ
dmesg: https://pastebin.com/GvYbdUQy
Workarounds:
amdgpu.pcie_gen_cap=0x4: Resolves X crashing after login
amdgpu.noretry=0: Helps with lockups in certain GL applications
mask: Resolves issue with crashing on suspend/sleep
Where:
Windowed and possibly fullscreen applications
Description:
In certain windows, artifacting occurs all over the menu bar, including minimize, maximize, and close icons. Text in certain applications such as Firefox and embedded "open/save file" popups will have grainy/dotted text and in rare cases, unreadable stretched and squished views. Some games render perfectly fine however the HUD text will stretch and flicker across the screen, while others will outright crash the system with the last syslog entry being garbled text (Game issues may not be related to Mesa).
The only information I get from the discord for this board is that it may be related to some buffer overflow and I may need a Mesa patch, although this info is vague. To sum up, the main issue is with desktop window boarders and text in applications exhibiting artifacts.
