mesa_glthread=true breaks FlightGear GUI on Intel driver
Not sure if this is the right place to report this, but in FlightGear flight simulator, antialiased fonts started breaking GUI rendering on an ArchLinux laptop with Intel video, since around 2020-06-13. So if this is indeed caused by Mesa, at least these versions are affected:
20.0.7-3
20.1.1-1
20.1.2-1
This makes parts of GUI randomly disappear:
$ mesa_glthread=true fgfs --prop:/sim/gui/current-style=0
For comparison, these still work
$ mesa_glthread=false fgfs --prop:/sim/gui/current-style=0
$ mesa_glthread=false fgfs --prop:/sim/gui/current-style=1
$ mesa_glthread=true fgfs --prop:/sim/gui/current-style=1
Side observation: on Intel cards the current-style=0
with pixelated fonts reduces framerate a lot, but this has the case for a very long time, and I am not sure if this has to do with Mesa either. Both issues reported to FlightGear as well:
