i915 0000:00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode 6:1:0x85fffffc, in blender, stopped heartbeat on rcs0
Hi!
Blender crashed while rendering a video on a Lenovo X220 Tablet laptop running Arch Linux and Sway (Wayland).
Here's a part from journalctl
:
Apr 16 21:04:23 zurich kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode 6:1:0x85fffffc, in blender [2047313], stopped heartbeat on rcs0
Apr 16 21:04:23 zurich kernel: GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.

Apr 16 21:04:23 zurich kernel: drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
Apr 16 21:04:23 zurich kernel: The GPU crash dump is required to analyze GPU hangs, so please always attach it.

I updated my kernel to 5.6.4 with pacman -Syu
and tried to render the same video again. This time, Blender hung: The GUI wasn't frozen but the frame number that Blender was currently rendering, jumped back and forth. From 34556 to 34557 and back again.
I was able to render the video on another laptop (also a Lenovo X220 Tablet), running Arch Linux 5.6.3 and KDE Plasma (X11).
Thanks for looking into this!
