Tablet mode does not disable touchpad (but it successfully disables the keyboard)
Summary
I am using Arch Linux KDE on a laptop with a keyboard that can be flipped. The physical keyboard gets disabled in the tablet mode (when the keyboard is flipped). However, the touchpad below the keyboard is not disabled in the tablet mode, and it receives accidental touch events as my fingers fall on the touchpad.
Tablet mode should also disable the touchpad input, so that it does not receive accidental touch events.
I reported a bug report at the KDE bug tracker, but I was told to submit a bug report to libinput.
Steps to reproduce
- Enable tablet mode by flipping the keyboard on a touch screen laptop
- Notice that the touchpad (below the flipped keyboard, on the opposite side of the screen) is still receiving touch inputs, while the keyboard does not receive buttonpress events, as expected.
Required information
- libinput version: 1.24.0
- hardware information: HP Chromebook 14 x360 (BLOOGUARD), with mrchromebox.tech firmware.
-
libinput record
output: attached libinput-record -
libinput debug-events --verbose
output: I flipped the keyboard (to enable tablet mode), used the touchpad in tablet mode, and flipped the keyboard back to disable tablet mode. Output attached. libinput-debug-events
