Kinetic scrolling of touchscreen is different than from touchpad
Hi,
i read the faq about kinetic scrolling and i know, that libinput is the wrong place for implementing it. I also think that my issue might not be an issue with libinput. But maybe i get some help at finding the right spot.
Currently for me, kinetic scrolling works perfekt in the case where i use the touchscreen of my dell xps 13: touch it, hold down, move, lift the finger while moving - and for example the browser continues to scrool some time (dependent of the speed when i lifted my finger). The touchscreen is an elan, controlled by libinput. An the underlying application is for example chromium.
However - if i do exactly the same on my touchpad (DELL07E6:00 06CB:76AF Touchpad, also controlled by libinput) the kinetic scrolling does not work. The scrolling stops immediately when i lift my finger (in the same app where at the same time it works on the touchscreen).
Any suggestions, whats wrong here?
Thanks, Roman
