(06cb:00bd) Synaptics - Device responded with error: 789
I'm filing this error here because it seems that the libfprint driver is where the error i receive comes from. Let me know if this is the wrong place.
On bootup, the fprintd service results in the following error:
* fprintd.service - Fingerprint Authentication Daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/fprintd.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:fprintd(1)
Dec 04 21:44:49 egg systemd[1]: Starting Fingerprint Authentication Daemon...
Dec 04 21:44:49 egg fprintd[1534]: Device responded with error: 789
Dec 04 21:44:49 egg fprintd[1534]: Ignoring device due to initialization error: The driver encountered a protocol error with the device.
Dec 04 21:44:49 egg systemd[1]: Started Fingerprint Authentication Daemon.
Dec 04 21:45:20 egg systemd[1]: fprintd.service: Succeeded.
Dec 04 21:46:06 egg systemd[1]: Starting Fingerprint Authentication Daemon...
Dec 04 21:46:06 egg systemd[1]: Started Fingerprint Authentication Daemon.
Dec 04 21:46:37 egg systemd[1]: fprintd.service: Succeeded.
Eventually, the fingerprint sensor starts working. But this results in fprintd-enroll and list reporting no devices for some time after startup.
