A bunch of cleanup/tidy-ups
This is the first set of patches from !37 (merged), the ones that just clean up things.
Most visible change: rename uninstall.sh to release_uninstall.sh because it doesn't actually uninstall otherwise.
Due to an influx of spam, we have had to impose restrictions on new accounts. Please see this wiki page for instructions on how to get full permissions. Sorry for the inconvenience.
