Check for the multiplier being set by the kernel
Related to #7 (closed), except that it requires the kernel to set the feature. For now anyway, and it's hardcoded too but that may be the better choice in the test, less chance of screwing things up.
Edit: this sits on top of !16 (merged), though it's not required per se
