webrtcbin: Moving from "bad" to "good"
Hi Folks. What would it take to move webrtcbin from “bad” to “good”?
I imagine that we need to demonstrate that it checks all of the boxes listed here: https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/documentation/additional/splitup.html
- a good code review
- some documentation
- a set of tests
- a real live maintainer
- or some actual wide use
Also, on IRC @tpm mentioned
- API stability
Additionally, we'd want to assess these to choose "good" vs "ugly"
- license of plugin and supporting libs
- patent problems
Questions:
- Is this a complete list of criteria?
- What is the community's sense for the current state of things. Is webrtcbin close to good, or are there significant well known gaps to address?
Thanks for reading!
