Poor autohinter results with Poppins font
The autohinter¹ seems to struggle with the Poppins TrueType font:

(renderings above generated by ftview)
It doesn't seem to manage to hint very much at all (no difference between the v35 and v40 hinter, where I would have expected sharper vertical stems with the former). It creates some asymmetry in the "T". And it doesn't preserve spacing between "L" and "i" in a good way.
This is with FreeType 2.12.1 on Fedora 36.
¹ I'm assuming it's the autohinter since I see no change turning it off an on.
