Potential for giving the fd.o ikiwiki theme a few upgrades?
I know that there are some pretty high-priority things going on right now. That being said...
One thing that's constantly bugged me about fd.o is the website. The theme looks decently nice on desktop, but on mobile, it falls apart easily:
-
overflow-x: auto
isn't in enough places, so long, unbreakable text blocks (such as code blocks) will overflow past the edge of the page, leaving a giant white bar on the side. - Because the website isn't tagged as mobile-friendly, seemingly random pieces of text end up either REALLY HUGE or really tiny.
- IMO sans-serif fonts tend to look better than serif fonts. Beyond the sheer design aspects and opinions, sans-serif fonts tend to be easier to read on small screens, and they have been scientifically proven to be easier to read for people with dyslexia.
I have some experience with ikiwiki theming, and I'd love to contribute in some way. (I was initially going to try some edits first just to show what differences would look like before harassing the issue tracker, but I couldn't find the theme sources anywhere...)
