Please remove spurious 'Regular' qualifiers from style values
It seems that some font makers misunderstand the OpenType spec and sprinkle their style names (fixed or instance) with 'Regular' qualifiers whenever one of their axis has the default value.
For example Merriweather includes some gems as Regular Narrow
and Regular Text Wide
This is ridiculous, Regular
should only be included in a style name in absence of any other keyword.
In https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/opentype/spec/namesmp the Bold
style is not named Regular Bold
to distinguish it from Narrow Bold
, nor it is named Bold Regular
to distinguish it from Bold Italic
, nor it is named Regular Bold Regular
to distinguish it from Narrow Bold Italic
.
Please prune by default all Regular
mentions from style, keeping a single Regular
when the pruning would result in an empty value.
