Kill symlinks

Rodrigo Vivi requested to merge rodrigovivi/drm-xe:xe_kill_symlinks into xe

Let's use Dave's suggestion to kill the symlinks. These 2 patches will need to be squashed to the original mega-squash on the public branch.
