[G73] Black background after wake up suspended monitor
If the monitor goes to sleep/suspend and I wake it up by moving the mouse display problems appear. Problems can be:
- A black desktop background with only a visible mouse pointer.
- Terminal window completely black with only a blinking rectangle.
- Firefox window with missing menu bar, or garbled window title text.
- Unresponsive keyboard, NumLock will not turn on or off. Only mouse moves.
It worked fine in Fedora 30 (and earlier) until kernel version 5.5.16-100.fc30.x86_64 and still works fine with Fedora 31 with kernel 5.5.16-200.fc31.x86_64. The issue appeared in Fedora 30 with kernel 5.6.7.100.fc30.x86_64 and continues in Fedora 31 with current kernel 5.7.7-100.fc31.x86_64.
EDIT 27/07/2020: dmesg-5.7.9.txt added.
Current workaround is to set in Gnome Power settings Blank Screen to Never, which means that the monitor is always on.
