Broken KMS as of Linux Kernel 6.4

I am unable to use KMS with i915 since Linux Kernel 6.4. Linux Kernel 6.3.9 & The latest LTS (6.1.39) are working fine.
The kernel boots without any screen output (my screen is completely off), but keyboard works and I can log in to my window manager, after which the screen starts (with a giant cursor in the middle).

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  • Be on Linux Kernel 6.4 or later
  • Enable KMS for i915 (add the kms hook in mkinitcpio)

System architecture: x86_64
Kernel version: 6.4.7-arch1-1 (also tested on 6.4-arch1)
Linux Distribution: Arch Linux
Machine: Acer Predator PH315-53
CPU: Intel i7-10870H
Display connector: eDP
