LG 27GL850: VRR incapable both via HDMI & DisplayPort 1.4

Brief summary of the problem:

I am unable to get VRR working with this monitor on either output. According to drm_info, it is vrr_capable = 0 (on HDMI, entry missing completely on DP)

The monitor is VRR capable, see link below.

Additionally, according to AMD, the highest refresh rate via HDMI should be 120Hz but I can only select 100Hz max.

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 7640U
  • GPU: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Phoenix1 [1002:15bf] (rev cb) (760M)
  • System Memory: 2x16GB
  • Display(s): LG 27GL850 (3rd page if filtering by manufacturer LG)
  • Type of Display Connection: DP or HDMI

System information:

  • Distro name and Version: arch linux
  • Kernel version: 6.6.7-arch1-1
  • Custom kernel: no
  • AMD official driver version: amdgpu using today's mesa-git and linux-firmware-git

How to reproduce the issue:

  • connect via either HDMI or DP1.4
  • make sure FreeSync Premium is enabled in Monitor internal settings (Menu -> Game Adjust -> Adaptive-Sync -> On)
