Can't install amdgpu drivers on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS due to unmet dependency on xorg-video-abi-24

Running amdgpu-install -y --usecase=graphics fails with the error: Depends: xorg-video-abi-24 but it is not installable

The issue can be fixed by manually editing file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/amdgpu.list (workaround taken from https://askubuntu.com/a/1419033)

Instead of deb https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu/22.20/ubuntu focal main

Should be deb https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu/22.20/ubuntu jammy main

Did you install the right package? The package for jammy is: https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu-install/22.20/ubuntu/jammy/amdgpu-install_22.20.50200-1_all.deb

As well, did you previously have the focal package installed? If so, please make sure you "sudo apt-get purge amdgpu-install" and then reinstall the jammy one to make sure the files are correctly cleaned up. As far as I know doing apt-get remove doesn't clean up any files in /etc/, so it might have the left over focal files.

Note the workaround was only required for 22.10, since we did not have jammy builds yet. 22.20 should work fine with jammy.

Yes, I think you are right, I may have installed the wrong package. I tried to reinstall using the link you provided and everything worked fine.
