Graphical corruption with RX 5700

I have encountered a bug, which I suppose comes from the driver, as it shows up in Wayland/Xorg, and on various Linux distributions (Fedora 31/32, and Manjaro 19.0). I have a RX 5700, and I get artefacts as shown in the attached video. These artefacts are very easy to reproduce: Just log in, and press the windows key, and they randomly appear, usually around UI elements. Interestingly, these artefacts do not happen in games (Vulkan or OpenGL). They also tend to happen less during recording, for some reason (or rather, they are easier to trigger when I'm not recording the screen using the built-in tool of Gnome). I have attached a set of log files, as recommended in the guidelines on how to submit a bug. Let me know if you need more info.

Well in my case the window is not filled with white, but I see a checkerboard pattern that flickers when there is some activity in the window (e.g. mouse moving, console caret blinking, etc...). Additionally, like mentioned above, this does not happen in full-screen OpenGL windows. I'm also not using the environment variable DRI_PRIME (unless it is set implicitly). Therefore, I don't think this is the same bug. Please correct me if I'm in the wrong.

It would affect any application that uses the userptr feature. Prime is just one example.

Fair enough, but my other points still hold. There is no white background in my case. In my experience, it looks like whatever is in the background (window or simply desktop background) leaks into the foreground, following those checkerboard patterns.

This issue hasn't had any activity since 2020-04-06. The AMD driver stack changes rapidly and contains lots of shared code across products so it's possible that it has already been fixed. Please upgrade to a current stable kernel and userspace stack and try again. If you still experience this issue with the latest driver stack, please capture relevant logging and open a new issue referring back to this one.
