dbus 1.15.0 crashing when certain applications start
This issue seems to have been noticed by the Alpine Linux maintainers as the distribution package was just downgraded back to 1.14.4, but I don't see the original issue on this tracker, so I'm reporting it incase.
The problem I observed with dbus 1.15.0 is that starting GTK3 or GTK4 applications, on the first attempt, would somehow screw up my dbus session so that many other things couldn't connect to it: pipewire/wireplumber would stop being able to process audio (audio would just go silent), and notify-send
would fail with 'connection refused'. The starting program would then be killed by SIGTERM. After that, the application would be able to start normally, but the dbus session would remain affected until I closed my desktop and restarted it.
My dbus session was started with dbus-run-session sway
from a TTY.
Likely relevant: Alpine Linux uses musl libc instead of glibc. The version of musl I have installed is 1.2.3.
