Stored credentials for a wired 802.1x authenticated connection not working
There seems to be an issue with stored credentials for wired 802.1x authenticated connections. If I select either to store the password as encrypted or not encrypted, the connection will fail with a "Activation: (ethernet) association took too long" warning (from sudo journalctl -u NetworkManager -f
) and an error message from the graphical NetworkManager interface of "Secrets were required but not provided".
I don't have this issue if I choose to provide the password every time. Also, deleting the connection, creating a new one and selecting to save the passwords seems to work, but only the first time. After disconnecting, trying to connect again will fail.
I cannot replicate the issue with a wireless WPA2 Enterprise (PEAP and MSCHAPv2) connection with the same CA certificate and credentials.
Please let me know if I could provide any logs that would be useful to debug this.
