Specifying default IPv4/IPv6 connection properties
I don't understand how to specify the default options for new connections, specifically I'd like to apply this for all new connections by default:
[ipv4]
dns=127.0.0.1;
dns-search=
ignore-auto-dns=true
method=auto
[ipv6]
addr-gen-mode=stable-privacy
dns-search=
ip6-privacy=0
method=link-local
By default NM uses the DNS server(s) provided by DHCP which is a huge privacy risk and secondly, I don't want to enable IPv6 by default for religious reasons :-)
I'm reading https://developer.gnome.org/NetworkManager/stable/NetworkManager.conf.html and there's nothing on the topic.
https://developer.gnome.org/NetworkManager/stable/ similarly and seemingly doesn't contain anything relevant.
The question about this issue remains still open almost four years after it was asked: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/336151/networkmanager-default-connection-settings
