IPv6 Shared Mode sets very short IP lifetimes and does not respond to new requests
Fedora 32 x86_64 server - NetworkManager 1.22.14
- bond0 - WAN (ipv6 addresses only mode)
- bond1 - LAN (ipv6 shared mode)
On the initial 'up' of the bond1 interface a IPv6 prefix is retrieved from my ISP and is set on the interface and sends out RA packets to my LAN and all LAN devices get an IP and can reach the IPv6 Internet. However NM sets the IP lifetimes to 3600 - way, too low. After the hour is up the IPs expire on all LAN devices and NM does not issue new IPs. Cycling LAN devices does not retrieve new IPs. Cycling the bond1 interface makes NM get another prefix and sends out another RA packet.
- NM needs configurable valid lifetime or at least increase the default to something reasonable like 24 hours.
- NM is not sending out new RAs. TRACE log does not reveal anything that would say why.
