Slow connecting if wired configuration created manually
Reproduced with Kubuntu as well as Manjaro (both running KDE, not sure if it can have any impact).
Steps:
- start a clean installation of e.g. Kubuntu/Manjaro or boot from USB drive (not sure about other Linux distros, sorry)
- connect ethernet cable
- -> connection is established very fast, about ~2 seconds (using "Wired Connection 1" configuration that was created manually)
- disconnect the cable
- delete the automatically created configuration
- create a new one (verify it is created in
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
) - connect the cable
- -> connection takes much longer, ~10 seconds on my laptop
I was able to reproduce this with 2 distros (Kubuntu + Manjaro, both running from USB drive) in 2 locations (home + work).
I am ready to help, provide any logs, etc. but I need your instructions.
Thank you.
