/sbin/modprobe is hard-coded
Hello,
Most commands such as iputils, dnsmasq, etc. are searched at configuration time and can be overridden via a configure flag (Meson variable), but /sbin/modprobe
is hard-coded in https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/blob/main/src/libnm-platform/nm-platform-utils.c#L2212.
This means it needs to be manually patched on non-FHS systems like Guix System or NixOS. It would be more portable if it was simply looked up from PATH instead or searched at configuration time like most of the other commands.
Thank you!
