Disabling AIGLX?
I remember a while back, in a xorg server release note, that disabling AIGLX would also disable parts of normal GLX, so the option was removed or not recommended to disable it.
I was wondering if this is still a thing, or ever was really a thing, and if I can safely disable AIGLX via my xorg.conf file.
Section "ServerFlags" Option "AIGLX" "off" EndSection
I dont use any sort of indirect rendering or the composite extension, so I dont have any use for AIGLX. Main reason I want AIGLX disabled, is security and performance. I only use direct rendering for gaming, and even have indirect rendering disabled via my xorg.conf file ("IndirectGLX" "0").
Can I disable AIGLX without it effecting direct rendering and normal GLX? If it does effect normal GLX, can it be investigated, to have AIGLX be disabled for security and performance without it effecting normal GLX?
